Union has been a family affair since the very beginning. After immigrating to Montreal from Romania, founder Abe Naimer first set up a shop under the name “The Star Gas & Electric Co.” back in 1914. The company got its start changing the filaments in gas lights – that’s how long we’ve been around!

We specialize in lighting, hardware, home automation, and furniture and décor. All our consultants have either successfully obtained their lighting certification from the American Lighting Association, are Interior Designers, or have a background in Visual Merchandising. Each one brings a wealth of industry experience to the table (not to mention a keen eye for aesthetics).

Our hardware specialists can assist you with your needs in decorative door hardware (interior and exterior), decorative cabinet hardware (kitchen, vanity, built-ins, furniture), and bathroom accessories. We offer a complimentary on-site (or virtual) hardware specifying service.

In 2014, we opened a commercial division in sunny Pompano Beach, Florida. So, we have very easy access to ship to your clients in the USA. Products can be drop-shipped to you directly from our suppliers or stored in our warehouse until your project is ready.

Holiday Sales: A few times a year, during Canadian and American Holidays, we celebrate with sales. Many of our brands will be reduced by 20%. During these sale periods, your discount code will not reduce the price further. It will, however, give you YOUR discount on all regular-priced products. We know this may be an inconvenience and are sorry for any confusion. Once the sale period is over, your discount will work properly at your tier, and you should have no problem checking out. Website Features: Our website has some really useful features. You can see the availability of items. If an item is backordered from the supplier, our website generally will show the date and estimate the time for delivery. This will help you plan your projects and manage customer expectations. We also have a great new tool on our website where you can make customized wish lists for each of your clients. This way you can name the wish list, keep track of your picks, and email your clients their wish list directly. If you want some more explanation, we would be happy to help!

Shipping: We try our best to include free shipping with trade orders over $300 but it is really on a case-by-case basis.

If there is something you are looking for, we might still be able to order it for you even if it is not listed on our website or available in our showroom so, please let us know. Being both a distributor for retail and commercial, we have access to an enormous number of lines.
