About Sabrina Basile
Sabrina is driven by a deep reverence for architecture. Her design philosophy is rooted in layered restraint, creating spaces that unfold slowly, revealing nuance, texture, and intention at every turn. Her journey into design began within the character-rich bones of her own historic homes. The first renovation gave way to a second ongoing project that further challenged her in scope, scale and craft. These hands-on restorations honed her eye for spatial flow, proportion, and the beauty that emerges when old and new are woven together with intention. Sabrina studied at Parsons School of Design and holds the CFA designation — an unexpected pairing that mirrors her approach: creativity grounded in rigor, artistry guided by thoughtful process.
Design Philosophy
Today, as Studio Basi continues to grow, she brings this duality to every project. Her work celebrates materiality in its most honest form — stone with soul, wood that shows its grain, metals that age with grace. Her aesthetic is informed by a lifetime of influences felt, studied, and distilled into spaces with a tension between the familiar and the new.With a belief that design should feel effortless yet deeply felt, Sabrina creates spaces that are grounded in foundation and elevated in every detail.
Relationship with Union
Aside from the clear expertise they bring to the table, I love working with Union as the relationship feels like an extension of our team. We source so many details in our projects beyond the obvious beauty of light fixtures and furnishings. Union truly is our trusted partner in all the often-overlooked elements, from door knobs to dimmers, that are actually so central to our physical and practical lived experience in a space and a core tenet of what we create at Studio Basi.
