Some spaces don’t need more—just better. In Hoaka’s new Blainville boutique, every detail was designed to feel intentional: confident, minimal, welcoming. Union partnered with Élisabeth Rioux and the Hoaka team to shape a lighting plan that supports real shopping moments—guiding the flow from entry to fitting rooms, creating softness without losing clarity.
It’s the kind of project we love: thoughtful design, refined choices, and a space that feels as good as it looks—because confidence starts with how a room is lit. This is Union at its best: curated taste, real-world performance, and partner energy from start to finish.

Hoaka Blainville Boutique — A New Space, Set in Light
Meet Hoaka — Founded by Elisabeth Rioux
Hoaka has always been rooted in confidence and connection—two things that translate beautifully into space. For the new Blainville boutique, the goal was clear: create a showroom-like calm that still feels alive. Light needed to do more than illuminate product; it had to support mood, movement, and the little moments that make retail feel personal—trying something on, catching your reflection, pausing at the counter.
At Union, we approach projects like this the way designers do: with a point of view. Not endless options—just the right ones. We help refine decisions around scale, placement, finish, and warmth, so the final space feels cohesive and effortless.

A Boutique Designed for Flow
Lighting that makes the space feel finished
Retail lighting has a job: it should flatter product and people—while keeping the space calm and clear. For Hoaka, our role was to help Elisabeth and the team choose the right fixtures for the boutique’s architecture and brand mood—pieces that feel elevated on the wall, balanced overhead, and cohesive from one corner to the next.
That’s the difference between adding lights and making lighting decisions. When the selections are right, the space feels stronger—more confident—because surfaces read clean, finishes feel intentional, and the atmosphere stays consistent from day to night. It’s exactly what Union does best: curated options, expert guidance, and the kind of clarity that makes the final look feel effortless.

The Space Finds Its Glow
The fixtures that anchored the transformation
Paven Pendant by Dainolite: A sculptural focal point that stays minimal. The integrated lighting keeps the logo wall crisp and clean, adding presence without pulling attention away from the brand.
Alonso Wall Sconce by Alora (Fitting Rooms): A supportive layer that feels flattering and practical—adding warmth where it matters most, without losing visual charm.
When a boutique is designed to feel calm, lighting has to be deliberate. These choices brought clarity, comfort, and cohesion—exactly what the space needed.
