L-shaped or Square Kitchen

Place a smaller rug in front of the sink for comfort.

Typical rug sizes: 2' × 4' and 2' × 5'.

Dining Room

Choose a rug that extends at least 2' beyond your table to allow for chair movement.

For expandable tables, ensure the rug fits even when extended.

You can opt for a rectangle, square, or even circular rug.

Typical rug sizes: 6' × 9', 8' × 10', 9' × 12'.

Living Room

Spacious Living Rooms

You can place all furniture (sofa, chairs, coffee table, and end tables) on the rug.

Typical rug sizes: 8' × 10' and 9' × 12'.

Average-Sized Room

Place the front legs of the furniture on the rug, ensuring at least 6" of rug on each side.

Typical rug sizes: 8' × 10' and 9' × 12'.

Bedroom

Option 1

Place the rug under the bed and surrounding furniture (including nightstands and a bench).

Typical rug size: 10' × 14'

Option 2

Position the rug so the bottom third of the bed is on it.

Typical rug sizes: 8' × 10' for a queen bed, 9' × 12' for a king bed.
