Union Lighting & Décor has been a family-run business since 1914, when Abe Naimer, newly arrived from Romania, opened The Star Gas & Electric Co., repairing filaments in gas lamps and brightening Montreal homes. Joined by his five brothers, the company became Union Lighting, a name that reflected their unity and shared vision.

In 1954, the family moved the showroom to its current home on Décarie Boulevard, where it still stands today.

Now led by Bram and Joanna Naimer, third-generation owners, Union continues to build on its century-long legacy of exceptional design, trusted service, and family values—lighting the way for generations to come.

We serve clients across North America through our commercial, retail, trade, and e-commerce divisions, all united by one goal: helping you illuminate your vision. Our 25,000 sq. ft. showroom features lighting, decorative hardware, furniture, smart home technology, and home accessories.

At Union, we believe in building community through creativity. We regularly host design events, product launches, and educational panels that bring together architects, designers, and industry leaders to inspire and connect.
